Kim Dong-eok is an artist and industrial designer born in 1974 at Ulleung-island who has been creating innovative and challenging works in furniture design, formative art, and media art.

At the age of 17, he began his career in manufacturing apartment furniture at large domestic construction companies and has since built his expertise in industrial design and has pioneered unique works that fuse tradition and modernity, technology and art.

Kim combines traditional furniture techniques with modern technology to create a new formative language.  Beyond simple furniture design, he is expanding his creativity into various areas such as media art and public art, and is attempting innovative work that breaks down the boundaries between space and art.

In particular, his world of work is a series of challenges and innovation, such as creating media furniture that combines digital images into furniture. He will continue to explore new materials and techniques, and expand the possibilities of art.
